Salus Safety Solutions Ltd were employed by SgurrEnergy Ltd to act as the Principal Designer and Health and Safety Advisor on behalf of the Client Statkraft.
The Statkraft project involved the design, supply and installation of the wind farm Civil works infrastructure. This included the construction of access roads, hard stands, foundations and the control building. Salus also conducted the installation of the power fiber-optic cable ducts between the individual turbines, met mast and control building. One of the key tasks was implementing these within the cable trenches of the inter-turbine in each of the 11nr wind turbines. Associated works also included the felling of further forested areas and the operation of a borrow pit to provide material for the access track construction.
